Call for Youth Delegates to the
EU and UN

Are you ready to represent youth on an international stage? The Danish Youth Council (DUF) is seeking candidates for two important roles: the EU Youth Delegate and the UN Youth Delegate.

General Eligibility Criteria

  • Aged 18-30

  • Strong communication skills

  • Experience in youth engagement

  • Fluent in Danish (written and spoken)

EU Youth Delegate

Application Deadline: November 1, 2024, by 22:00 (CET)

Criteria defined by DUF: 

  • Be between 18-30 years old.

  • Passion for European youth involvement and for creating relationships with young people from other European countries.

  • Have political flair, courage and the ability to speak up for young people.

Candidates should also meet the following criteria to be nominated by Silba:

  • Merit within Silba: Previous positions or substantial experience within Silba.

  • Commitment: Willingness to dedicate time to internal and external representation as a Silba representative.

  • International Experience: Relevant experiences such as internships or study abroad.

  • Candidates must have experience or knowledge of EU topics through education or volunteer work, enabling them to engage in meaningful discussions on policies and youth engagement.

UN Youth Delegate

Application Deadline: November 1, 2024, by 22:00 (CET)
Theme Focus: Only applicants for Theme 1 (Democracy and Partnerships) will be considered.
Criteria defined by DUF:

  • Be between 18-30 years old

  • Passion for and experience with international collaboration

  • Have special knowledge of and experience with the theme “Democracy and partnerships”

  • Have knowledge of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)

  • Have diplomatic sense, courage and the ability to speak up for young people in both large gatherings and among decision-makers in political forums

  • Have knowledge of DUF, and be able to represent adopted policy and special cases from DUF on the various topics

Candidates should also meet the following criteria to be nominated by Silba:

  • Political Ability/Flair: Demonstrated capacity for political engagement.

  • Merit within Silba: Previous positions or substantial experience within Silba.

  • Commitment: Willingness to dedicate time to internal and external representation as a Silba representative.

  • International Experience: Relevant experiences such as internships or study abroad.

Selection Process:

  • Nomination by Silba: Silba representatives will select nominees based on the above criteria.

  • Submission to DUF: The Executive Committee at DUF will receive applications from all member organisations, including Silba.

  • Final Selection: DUF's Executive Committee will make the final decision on delegate selection.
